TrustedReviews reviews Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24in Widescreen and concludes with overall rating of 9 out of 10 that “Dell is an improvement in some areas over its predecessor, namely in design and specification, but thanks to banding issues, it’s a step down from the 2405WFP. I have a G5 and am looking to get a new monitor. I was looking at the UltraSharp 2407WFP, which is a nice size and also has multiple inputs [RCA, USB, etc] which is something i've been looking for. Also not to mention that the prices are much more affordable than any apple monitors. Get drivers and downloads for your Dell 2407WFP. Download and install the latest drivers, firmware and software. I just bought a new 2407WFP and am planning on using it with my Macbook Pro. When I connect it (using VGA to DVI conversion into the Macbook Pro), I select the maximum resolution setting for the Dell monitor, however, it just mirrors with resolution of my Macbook Pros's screen.

Dell 2407wfp Monitor Driver For Mac
I am considering upgrading from my 2407WFP for use on a 2015 MacBook Air. The Thunderbolt 2/Mini DisplayPort is capable of 60hz 4k (from reviews when the MBA came out anyway) so that is my target. The Dell is an 8-bit S-PVA panel, 1920x1200, no dead pixels, zero glow of any kind. It's a good display and nothing is really wrong with it except age and pixel density. I do like the 16:10 aspect ratio.
I'm looking for 27', maybe 28' but no bigger. 8bit+FRC or 10bit optimal but 8bit at the least required. IPS or AHVA is my thought. HDR optional as the Mac wouldn't support it anyway, but I might like to use monitor with my PC. Similarly G-Sync might be nice but not required, as would HDMI 2.0 or 2x DP so I can use the monitor's inputs to switch between PC and Mac. Cost is somewhat flexible but I think the Acer X27, Asus PG27UQ and Dell UP2718Q are way overkill for this application.
I'm worried that IPS glow may be a deal breaker for me. I also want to order from someplace where I'll be able to return the display if there are any dead/stuck pixels or excessive glow.

Here are the displays I have encountered so far:

Asus PG27AQ - looks like a great display but lack of HDMI 2.0 is annoying on a 4k 60hz display. Could use DP switch. 10bit is a plus. This is actually AHVA right, not IPS? IPS glow?

Acer XB271HK - lower cost than Asus, how does this compare?

LG 27UK650-W - has pretty much the features I am looking for at a low cost but apparently IPS glow is common. This is a problem for me as dark scenes are exactly what I would like to see from my PC, and that would be distracting even on Mac.
Samsung UH750 - Quantum Dot but TN. Don't think I could go to TN for this. Specs say it is 1B color, is it actually 10bit?
ViewSonic VP2780-4K - looks nice, HDMI 2.0, 10bit color, calibrated with 14-bit LUT. How is this brand?
BenQ BL2711U - looks good on paper, HDMI 2.0, 10bit color, not necessarily comfortable with BenQ brand.
Monoprice 24658 - two DP inputs, zero dead pixel guarantee, not really familiar with Monoprice. Is this 10bit?
Any opinions or other suggestions? Should I wait until 2407WFP dies? Thanks.
